Installation of the USB modem is generally quick and easy. The installation uses a simple connection software which manages your connection with the modem. The software comes on an easy to use set up CD.

The BigPond USB 4G is Australia's fastest mobile broadband device offering download speeds from 2Mbps to 40Mbps in all capital CBDs, their respective airports and selected regional areas. If 4G is not available the BigPond USB 4G will switch to the Next G network.

BigPond Elite® Network Gateway Modem
A gateway modem will connect to the Next G network wirelessly, meaning that you don't need a landline connection like ADSL or Cable and the Next G internet access will be routed around the house via a WiFi signal. This allow your computer or device (like an iPhone) and other devices to connect to to the Gateway modem wirelessly (like a standard in-house wireless modem would) so that you and others around you can access the internet connection.
This single gateway modem connects to the internet, then shares this one connection around all the people who are using it meaning that the download / upload speed slows down as more people connect to your connection. You will need a power point to plug this gateway modem into the wall.

Email Account(s)
BigPond membership includes 1 email address and mailbox. You can choose your own BigPond email address (as long as it's available). There is 20MB of mail storage space and each additional mailbox costs $1 per month with up to 15 available.
You can access all webmail services like Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo email through your browser as you would normally, and access their POP / IMAP features if you use those.
